After-School Teacher
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational or recreational setting.
- Strong communication and class management skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive environment for all students.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with children.
- Must have a valid Texas Drivers License
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate academic competence in teaching subject areas, including K-8th grade Math and Language Arts, using effective pedagogical methods.
- Implement the provided curriculum and lesson plans, and provide feedback for improvement
- Foster positive social interactions and encourage students to develop problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Manage and resolve conflicts among students in a positive and constructive manner.
- Report all physical and behavioral student incidents promptly and communicate effectively with administration and parents.
- Monitor and support students’ emotional well-being, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Communicate student progress with parents and school staff.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive after-school program.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and professional development sessions to enhance skills and program effectiveness.
- Ensure that the after-school environment is clean, organized, and equipped with necessary supplies and materials.
- Implement and uphold all safety and emergency procedures, including regular drills and safety checks.
