Mentor Teacher – Middle School
What is a Mentor Teacher in the Ecole School system?
In our educational model, the traditional role of a teacher has been reimagined. Each Mentor Teacher serves as a guide for approximately 20 students. Rather than focusing on teaching specific subjects, mentors focus on building strong, meaningful relationships with students and helping them navigate their educational journeys.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach "Learning How to Learn" courses during the first four months to assigned student groups using hands-on, student-centered methods.
- Collaborate with students and their families to create individualized career plans and customized course pathways.
- Guide, monitor, and observe students' self-directed learning journeys.
- Track daily academic progress and hold regular one-on-one and group meetings.
- Oversee and assess the development of each student’s digital portfolio.
- Attend and evaluate student project presentations, providing feedback and coaching.
- Maintain a physically and emotionally safe, inspiring, and supportive learning environment.
- Serve as a living role model, building positive relationships with students, families, and the broader community.
Required Qualification:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with portfolio-based assessment, digital learning tools, and self-directed education models.
- Background in student-centered, inquiry-based, or portfolio-based education models.
- Training in mentoring, advising, coaching, or youth leadership.
What We Offer:
- Competitive annual salary plus performance-based bonuses.
- Opportunity to work in an innovative, flexible, and supportive educational environment.
- A chance to be part of a groundbreaking model redefining learning and mentorship.
